Youths were provided training in different areas like waste water management, water purification, construction, electricity and agriculture.
Mtobeli Mxotwa said “The department of the rural development and land reform created around 35,000 jobs and provided employment to 17,279 individuals in the countryside with different skills so that can be helpful to themselves.” Among these 16,044 jobs were created by the department’s enterprise development arm and 5838 jobs by infrastructure development.
The act was further strengthened by the participation of 12,881 youths from the rural area into the skills training programme the National Rural Youth Service Corps (Narysec). Youths between the ages of 18 and 35 were selected from 3000 rural wards, irrespective of the gender and disability.
The jobs were created for various initiatives like building bridges, schools, health facilities and the constructing roads. Truly saying the aim of the government was to enable the youth to develop their own area once they are fully trained and skilled.
