Government leading towards job creation

City press report - If government is thinking to increase the civil services than the number of new jobs to be delivered will go scanty or even may disappear.

According to the report from Stats SA on the number of jobs created this week clearly states the scenario of  shrinkage in the industrial sector and also governments role to soothe the unemployment crisis.

In the third quarter this year fresh 16 000 jobs were added in the nonagricultural sector - according to the Quarterly Employment Statistics by surveying employers. From which 15 000 were in community, social and personal services sector. The private sectors were seen creating jobs at a moderate rate but the mining, manufacturing, utilities and construction sector shedded their jobs.

According to one of the survey, from January to September this year SA lost 10 000 formal jobs which was a critical situation but more worrying is that where the jobs had gone?? because the community and personal sectors actually gained 33 000 jobs.

On the other side transport, wholesale and retail, construction, manufacturing and mining sectors dropped the same amount of jobs. And now the community and personal services deliver 28.4% of jobs compared to the 25.1% in 2008.

The manufacturing job statistics can be probably affected by the ongoing reduction in the industrial activity. The sector’s job count was seen edging down by 1 143 000. Not only in this situation but also before the economic crisis the manufacturing jobs were seen melting down with the highest rate seen in 2006 which was about 1 334 000.

However few jobs were recovered in the form of the service jobs in the state to slightly improve the economic crisis and  reduce the constant declines in the manufacturing sector.
